weekend thrills
It was a relatively good Sunday :)
Early this morning the housemate and I went to meet JY and we (or rather they) had a sumptuous breakfast at Selfish Gene cafe. I love that place. They serve very yummy scrambled eggs and I am so in love with the scenic spots in that area. For once, I felt good about myself for I could bring them around the place. We dropped by my favourite spot at Duxton, Littered With Books. I was particularly drawn by one book but I decided I really needed to complete the three I am still struggling to finish before getting my hands on yet another new one.
I was so in awe at the ordinary-looking yet to me splendid infrastructure around the area that I kept stopping them to snap photographs. They often looked so happy in my pictures and that has always been one of the best rewards I get from photography. Somehow we got too carried away that we lost our way. We found ourselves at an old shop that the housemate had wanted to visit but was not open earlier. We went in only to be in awe more than ever, but obviously did not get anything. The elderly uncle (shop owner) was so kind when we asked him for direction. He drew the routes on a piece of paper and asked us to visit him again.
Then we ended up at Grassroots Bookstore.
That place is always one of our favourites. Apart from the books, it is a great place to chill with friends. I had a buttercake with my most hated raisins in it, but it was a relaxing time to spend with the women. I picked up another three books that I very badly wanted to buy but.... for obvious reasons I did not.
And then we went shopping! :)
We each got something for ourselves, not cheap but all were great bargains :)
After a long contemplation (a few years...), I got myself a 100D :)
On our way back I saw the housemate looking through the photos that I took for them. I felt she loved them. And I really like how people smile at the pictures I take for them. I think that is the true value of a photograph. A priceless memory that makes you smile even when you look at it ten years down the road.
It has been a satisfying weekend :)
